HACRO – the Hellenic Association of Contract Research Organizations – was delighted to welcome representatives of the government, healthcare and pharmaceutical institutions, the scientific community, the media and its member companies to its 2026 New Year’s Reception.
The event reflected the shared commitment of all stakeholders to strengthening clinical research in Greece and fostering continued collaboration in support of innovation, patient access and scientific excellence.
The traditional New Year’s cake cutting ceremony was led by the Minister of Health, Adonis Georgiadis, who reaffirmed the Government’s support for the continued development of clinical research in Greece.

In his address, the Minister highlighted that the recent adoption of the new Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD) has established a stronger regulatory framework for clinical trials. Combined with enhanced investment incentives through the expanded clawback offset scheme and the implementation of forthcoming reforms, these measures are expected to further strengthen Greece’s competitiveness as a destination for international clinical research, with the State acting as a committed partner in this effort.
Looking ahead, HACRO remains dedicated to promoting institutional collaboration, supporting continuous improvements to the clinical research framework and advancing the value of clinical research for the benefit of patients, science and society.
On behalf of all HACRO members, we wish everyone a happy, healthy and successful New Year filled with progress, innovation and new opportunities.
