HACRO – the Hellenic Association of Contract Research Organizations – was proud to support, under its auspices, the 10th Annual Conference of the Hellenic Cancer Federation (ELLOK), held under the theme “Putting People First – Building Bridges of Care.”
HACRO President Evangelia (Lia) Koraki participated in the panel discussion “Clinical Trials: A Driving Force for Progress and Access to Innovation,” highlighting the pivotal role of clinical trials in connecting scientific innovation with better outcomes for patients.
During the discussion, she emphasised that maintaining Europe’s competitiveness in clinical research requires continuous adaptation through a faster, more agile and better harmonised regulatory environment. In this context, she underlined the importance of Greece’s participation in the Fast EU initiative as a trusted partner in the evolving European clinical research landscape, as well as the significance of the new Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD), which introduces a unified, transparent and predictable framework for the conduct of clinical trials, enhancing both efficiency and regulatory certainty.
Ms Koraki also stressed that participation in clinical trials represents an act of trust, a meaningful contribution to scientific progress and an investment in the future of healthcare. With a clear national strategy, sustained implementation of reforms and the active involvement of patients, Greece has the opportunity to establish itself as a stable and trusted destination for international clinical research.
HACRO extends its sincere thanks to the Hellenic Cancer Federation (ELLOK) for the invitation and the excellent organisation of the conference, as well as to all fellow panellists for a constructive and insightful discussion.
