HACRO – the Hellenic Association of Contract Research Organizations – was honoured to support, under its auspices, the 3rd Synergies Forum on Cancer: Policy, Research & Funding Strategies, organised by the Hellenic Cancer Federation (ELLOK) and held in Athens from 29 June to 1 July 2026.
As part of the Forum, HACRO President Evangelia (Lia) Koraki participated in the panel discussion “Bringing Cancer Innovation to Patients: Clinical Trials and Translational Pipelines,” highlighting the strategic role of clinical research in Greece and the evolving European agenda for innovation.
During her presentation, Ms Koraki emphasised that Europe is redefining the role of clinical research, recognising it as a strategic pillar for innovation, competitiveness and sustainable growth. She noted that the reforms currently being implemented in Greece are creating the conditions for the country to play a stronger role within this new European landscape.
She stressed, however, that maintaining this momentum will require the continued implementation of reforms and the development of a coherent long-term national strategy for clinical research—one that provides stability, continuity and clear direction beyond electoral cycles and administrative changes.
