HACRO – the Hellenic Association of Contract Research Organizations – once again supported the Panhellenic Conference “Haematology as an Interdisciplinary Meeting Point: From the Algorithm to the Patient” organised in Ioannina by the Interdisciplinary Society for Research in Haematology, in collaboration with the Haematology Department of the University of Ioannina.
HACRO President Evangelia (Lia) Koraki participated in the panel discussion “Clinical Research in Greece and Europe in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Where Do We Stand One Year Later?”, contributing to an insightful dialogue on the evolving clinical research landscape.
The discussion explored recent developments in Greece and across Europe, highlighting the importance of the new Joint Ministerial Decision (JMD) and the forthcoming National Biomedical Research Registry, as well as the growing role of artificial intelligence throughout the clinical trial lifecycle—from study design and patient identification to trial conduct and data analysis.
Ms Koraki also highlighted Greece’s key competitive advantages in clinical research, including its highly qualified scientific workforce, extensive expertise and cost competitiveness, all of which continue to strengthen the country’s appeal to international sponsors. At the same time, she emphasised the need to further improve the efficiency, speed and predictability of the clinical research environment, while continuing to strengthen the broader innovation ecosystem, in order to fully capitalise on the momentum that has been created.
