The Greek Patients’ Association launches the first EUPATI Patient Academy in Greece (https://academy.greekpatient.gr/), a comprehensive educational program aimed at strengthening the role of patients in pharmaceutical research, clinical trials, and health policy development.
Empowering patients through continuous education and access to reliable information can play a decisive role in shaping a modern, equitable, and efficient healthcare system—one in which patients’ voices have a meaningful impact not only on decisions regarding their treatment and care, but also on the improvement of services and the design of effective health policies. In this context, HACRO supports initiatives that promote the active participation and institutional representation of patients within the healthcare ecosystem.
What is the EUPATI Patient Academy?
The EUPATI Patient Academy is a high-quality program aligned with European educational standards and tailored to the needs of the Greek healthcare system. The program is scheduled to commence in March 2026.
The Academy aims to provide substantial and evidence-based education to patient representatives, enhancing their capacity to participate actively and effectively in dialogue on the following key areas:
- Health Technology Assessment (HTA)
- Clinical Trials & Drug Development
- Regulatory Affairs
- Digital Health
- Innovation and patient involvement in health policies
Through this process, participants gain a comprehensive understanding of the medicine lifecycle, regulatory procedures, and assessment mechanisms that influence patients’ access to innovative therapies.
The EUPATI Patient Academy aspires to become a reference point for patient education in Greece, reinforcing the role of patients in shaping a modern and resilient healthcare system.
