The Memorandum of Understanding between HACRO and the MSc Programme “Clinical Trials: Design and Conduct” of Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens (NKUA), strengthens the connection between academic education and clinical research practice.
Athens, July 3, 2026 – The Hellenic Association of CRO’s (HACRO) and the Master’s Programme “Clinical Trials: Design and Conduct” of Medical School of National and Kapodistrian University of Athens have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), establishing a strategic partnership aimed at bridging academic education with the evolving needs of clinical research in Greece.
The collaboration aims to develop joint educational and scientific initiatives that will enhance the knowledge, skills and career prospects of the Programme’s students, while contributing to the further strengthening of Greece’s clinical research ecosystem.
Under the Memorandum of Understanding, the parties will collaborate in several areas, including:
- the participation of professionals from HACRO member companies in the MSc Programme’s educational activities through lectures, seminars and workshops;
- the development of internship, mentoring and professional networking opportunities for students;
- the co-organization of scientific and educational events;
- the exchange of expertise and the promotion of joint initiatives supporting the advancement of clinical research in Greece;
- the exploration of scholarship opportunities and other forms of student support.

Professor Evangelos Terpos, Director of the MSc Programme and Professor of Hematology, stated: “Our collaboration with HACRO represents an important step towards connecting academic education with the evolving needs of clinical research. Through our joint initiatives, we aspire to provide our students with even greater opportunities for education, professional development and meaningful engagement with the clinical research sector.”
On behalf of HACRO, the Association’s President, Evangelia Koraki, stated: “HACRO has consistently supported initiatives that promote education and create opportunities for the next generation of scientists. Through this collaboration, we aspire to give students the opportunity to explore the field of clinical trials, discover the career opportunities it offers and, ultimately, inspire them to become the next generation of clinical research professionals in Greece. The Memorandum of Understanding marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration between HACRO and the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens, driven by a shared vision to strengthen education, foster new skills and create greater opportunities for young scientists pursuing careers in the rapidly evolving field of clinical research. By connecting academic knowledge with professional experience, the two organizations aim to make a meaningful contribution to developing the next generation of professionals who will support the future growth of clinical research in Greece.
